Golf

Well I was supposed to play in the Zelienople/Harmony Chamber of Commerce golf outing today but it was cancelled because the Heavens opened up and rained big-time! So if I can't play golf I might as well talk golf.

I suggest keeping some items on hand that have your company name on them to donate as door prizes at golf outings and other events as well. You get recognition in the program and visually at the event. Also, it is a good idea to watch who wins the door prize and that gives you the opportunity to introduce yourself to the winner after the event is over.

Some of the more traditional golf items are umbrellas, hats & visors, golf balls, tees, shoe bags, ditty bags with a clip, towels, ball mark repair tools, first aid kits, and wearables like polos/wind shirts/sweatshirts.

Risk

Business has been picking up which is a great sign. I think the "You can't steal second base and keep your foot on first" quote applies perfectly now for those people that are contemplating how to grow and market thier business.

Golf season is in full gear and as we all know golf and business go together like peanut butter and jelly. If you have a small marketing budget you could order some bulk golf tees and have your company name printed on them and provide them in a bowl at the registration desk at a golf outing or put them in a small zip lock back with a ball mark repair tool along with your business card for the goody bag given to each golfer in the outing. They come in various lengths.

Providing trophies, plaques, and awards is one of my favorite things to do. I love to hear the stories of how the person reacted when they received the award. I have some excellent suppliers that can turn these around pretty quickly and with very competitive prices.
